Maverick 

Maverick – Maverick is one of the most exciting dogs we’ve ever brought into our program. He was the pick of the litter from the one-time pairing between Jax and Abby, and he represents their line in the best way possible. He’s a true Field Golden—fast, athletic, lean, and built to move. Without question, he is the most athletic Golden I’ve ever seen, and he pairs that with a loving, people-oriented temperament that makes him a treasure to have around.

Maverick has an infectious personality. Over time, he’s quietly become the leader of the “younger generation” in our group. He’s also one of the few stud dogs who lives inside the house with us, and he handles that privilege with maturity and calmness. He and our rescue, Roscoe, are best buddies, and together with Penny, they form a tight little trio. Most days you’ll find them out in the fenced backyard playing until they decide to warn me that the UPS truck has arrived.

He also has a special bond with his mom, Abby. You can see the recognition every time they interact—there’s always an attempt to play or spend time together, and it’s obvious they know she’s his mother.

Maverick is loyal to his core. When I’m working at my desk, he’s almost always lying beside me. He doesn’t need anything; he just wants to be close and get a few head pets. When he’s been outside and I open the door, he runs straight to me for a hug—every single time, without fail.

He’s energetic in a good way—quick, alert, and eager to please. His obedience is solid, and his fetch skills are improving constantly. Watching him chase a ball is something special. His gait has this athletic hop and skip that makes him look like he’s built for speed. He’s powerful, fast, and focused all at once.

Maverick is simply one of my favorites. He’s a special dog, and he brings a lot of heart and athleticism to our program. Right now, he’s paired with Penny, and we’re excited to see what the future holds for him as he continues to mature and take on a larger role in our breeding program.
