Bo 

Bo – Bo is the newest member of Big Lake Goldens, and even after just a few days, he has made his presence known. He came to us from Oklahoma and is the full brother of our Penny Benjamin, born a year apart. We brought him into the program with the intention of raising him to be a future stud, and he’s already proving he has the personality for it.

Bo is pure energy and curiosity. He’s constantly exploring, discovering new things, and getting into anything he can reach. With as many dogs as we have in the house, joining this group could easily overwhelm a young puppy, but Bo hit the ground running. He has zero fear when it comes to meeting the older dogs and jumps straight into their faces trying to get them to play.

He’s also a bit of an escape artist. The 2½-foot puppy fence that usually keeps youngsters contained? Bo has already mastered climbing it. Toys are another big part of his world—he cycles back to them constantly between his little adventures. Despite the chaos he creates, he’s incredibly affectionate. In less than a week, he’s already figured out how to leap into my arms so I can pick him up—a trick that won’t last long once he starts growing.

As he matures, Bo will be spending time with Fonzie, who will serve as his mentor to help him “learn the ways of the ranch,” understand the routine, and develop his place in the group. Eventually, he will be replacing Gunner in the breeding program as Gunner begins his trek to retirement. He’s still learning the hierarchy inside the house, but he’s settling in quickly and making sure everyone knows he’s here. Bo is a firecracker, no doubt about it. But he’s smart, bold, and full of personality. We like this little guy a lot, and we’re excited to see the stud he grows into.
